How it works

ER Current shows emergency-department wait times reported by people in your community. It is not a hospital system and not official hospital data.

Install ER Current on your device

Installing adds ER Current to your home screen or app list so it opens in one tap, without a browser address bar. Nothing is downloaded from an app store, and installing is entirely optional — every feature works the same in a browser.

Android, and Chrome or Edge on desktop

  1. Select Install App above.
  2. Confirm in the message your browser shows.

If nothing appears, your browser may have already installed it, or may not support installing.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open this page in Safari.
  2. Open the Share menu — the square with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Scroll down and select “Add to Home Screen”.
  4. Confirm by selecting “Add”.

This must be done in Safari. Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on iPhone and iPad cannot add apps to the Home Screen.

Other browsers

  2. Or open ER Current in Chrome, Edge, or Safari to install it.

Searching hospitals, viewing wait times, and submitting a report all work without installing.

Installing does not grant ER Current any additional access to your device. It does not send notifications, does not track your location in the background, and does not collect anything about you. An installed app still needs an internet connection to show wait times.
